[attr="class","box2"]The rules were simple. Like every other movie depicting time travel she was to go back and keep her identity unknown. It was a simple goal to ensure her own existence and make sure that her own mother was not the undoing of her father. As well as a majority of the mutant population. They randoms were not as important to her as making sure that her mother didn't become the unknowing destructor. All the fools had given their lives to make sure she had the time to escape. Passing through the fabric of time had been a taxing process.
It took a great deal of power to keep her own body from being ripped apart in the vortex. A large explosion in a empty warehouse by the docks was seen for blocks around. In the middle of the fire and wreckage she stepped out of a bubble of psionic energy. The old worn down fools jacket on her shoulders. The very one that had graced the shoulders of her father before he had been killed. Brushing some dust off it she left the scene before the local authorities would arrive. It seemed a bit bizarre wandering the streets of nearly 18 years ago.
Rounding corners she found herself Looking upon the the place she would spend her life growing up around. Visually she looked around and could see ghost images of her with her parents. Moving into the lot she would gaze on her Aunt lulu who was barking orders at some recruit who dropped a box of car parts. Snickering to herself she would have to snap back and remember why she was here. Why she had come back to this place and she would let her eyes drift closed. A wave of psychic energy would pulse over the property. Everyone would cease to move and hit the ground. Carefully she would alter memories of the sleeping fools to make herself a presence. It was a very vague presence and every fool would wake up knowing she was one of them.
Though they wouldn't know how or when she got there. The memory fog almost as hazy as a hangover. Within moments the fools started to stir. All shaking off their passing out as a side affect from partying to hard the night before. As she stood there glancing around she ended up with fingers snapping in her face. It was her Aunt Lulu who looked less than amused. "Mystic, You were unloading the liquor order were you not? Did I need to repeat myself Babydoll?" Her aunt would speak in a rushed passive aggressive tone. "sorry boss, on it." Savannah would answer before moving inside to stock the bar.
It was only a matter of time before fools would all regather here. Every night was a party with the Boys and Savannah hard probably seen and heard more than enough that most parents wouldn't want their child to see. Though her parents were not most parents. Getting to work she would find herself cleansing glasses and getting everything squared away.

One tequila, two tequila, three tequila four, 5,6,7,8 shots later no tequila just floor. Buster was drooling into the dusty planks underneath the bar. It might as well been a second bedroom. Many a night he had crashed in the bar, over doing it just like he shouldn't. He was young, ballsy and immortal as far as he knew. Then again, every swinging dick with a set of large balls thought that death couldn't catch up to them.
Super powered or no, it was just the ego of the beast that kept him closing down bars and titty joints. The lonliness was probably the worst part of it. Having a different pair of tits in your bed every night was only fun for so long. Though he kept acting like it was fun. Acting like he was having the time of his life, when really he knew it had worn out it's welcome. Buster wanted a queen on his arm. Not just so he could own the world but so he could start enjoying it. Someone kicked him in the ribs.
Buster tilted his head up to see Silver Shadow standing over him. Tilting his head enough to see the frown on his face made all that tequila want to come rushing back. He swallowed and sat up. "You alright?" The voice was cold and without real concern as Shawn sat down at the bar and took a glass. He reached across the bar and grabbed the tequila and poured a shot, handing it to Buster. "Hair of the dog."
He said. Buster nodded and took it without hesitation. Throwing it back he had one knee propped up and his arm dangling over the edge of it. "We party through the night or something?" He laughed not remembering much of shit from the last twenty four hours. Shawn shrugged. "I suppose we were celebrating Go-Go's recent release from prison." That wasn't really a surprise.. She was a fucking genuis and opted to represent herself. She buried the district atterny in so many legal loopoles and technicalities that halfway through her trial they dropped the charges. I guess he could see which way the wind was blowing. "Right." Buster said standing up.
There was a dusty haze spilling in through the light in the bar. Dust particles swam in the air in the beams of light that made it from the high windows to the dirty bartop. Buster sat at the bar and right in front of Mystic. He ran a hand through his hair sweeping it back and resting an elbow on the counter. "Where is she anyways?" Buster asked. Shawn shrugged again. "Beats the fuck out of me. I think I saw her leaving but I don't know where." Buster pointed a finger at him as he glanced at Mystic. There was a rye smile on his face. Something in his eyes danced and sparkled. "That's what I love about you man, your attention to detail." Shawn rolled his eyes. "Get fucked." Buster laughed.
Turning to Mystic and giving her his full attention Buster stared at her for a long time. He rested both arms on the counter now. He seemed to be studying her for a long time. "You...." He started and then shut his mouth. There was an inquisitive look of confusion on his face. "We never...." He stopped again. "How you doing?" He finally settled on. Fuck his brain felt like it went through the washing machine and someone forgot to put it on 'delicate' That was the trough with being the bad boy party boy. Your nights blurred together until it was one big cluster fuck. No memories worth holding onto he supposed. "Listen, I got a job I'm going to need an extra pair of hands." He told her. "What's wrong with mine?" Shawn asked. "They're the hands of an asshole. I need someone with a lighter touch." He said in hushed tones. As if it were some big secret.
"This chick owes. I don't like roughing up dames that I don't have too. But if you punch her in the face.... Well, I wouldn't object to that. She's into the club for 30,000. Those aren't small potatoes. I need some help convincing her to pay out. Apperently she's connected though. A friend of a friend of a whatever the fuck. So going nuclear on the family's not an option. I snatch the husband, relocate his knee caps suddenly we have some very powerful people pissed off at the club. But also I can't just let this slide. It's a personal insult to the Fools and what we stand for. I need someone with a feminine touch to come have a chat with this lady and make sure things don't get out of hand."
Shawn thought about this and stood up. "I'm sure Mystic can handle it." He said then he thought about things actually getting out of hand and for the life of him he couldn't remember what exactly she was capable of. That scared him a little, but he walked off just the same.
"Mystic....Wha....What's your real name?" Buster was almost embarrassed he had to ask, but no matter how much he tried he couldn't pull anything concrete out of his head. Like, he knew she was part of the family. He remembered her being there for awhile, but nothing specific. No, specific times they had paled around or anything like that. "I just realized I must've never asked." That part didn't seem unusual to him. He lived a revolving door of pretty faces, who's names were never really important. He didn't know if she had been one of those faces in his past but stupider things had happened before.

[attr="class","box2"]As she was cleaning shot glasses and finishing what she believed was a nice restock of the bar. Her attention turned when a hand reached over and her mouth opened to say something. though when she looked up and realized who it was she quickly went quiet. Hell it was everything she had to not jump over the bar and hug her father. White eyes shifted as she watched the interaction between buster and him. She couldn't help but smirk as she was just happy to see them both alive and basically well. Aside from a pickled liver or two with the heavy use of tequila. When she heard buster address her she would looked around to be sure.
As she looked back at him she could see the almost puzzled on one his face. 'We...never' Quirking her eyebrow at him she just shook her head. "By the looks of it i'm doing better than you." Mystic would say with a smirk and hint of sarcasm. "you seem to have an unhealthy attachment to the floor." Laughing briefly she heard him say something about a job and she stopped smiling. The truth was she hadn't even had a chance to become a full fledged Fools member. He father had wanted better for her and wanted her in school and college. Truth be told she didn't even use half of the powers she possessed.
It was the powers of her father that scared her as it was hard enough to control the power her mother passed on. Most kids when they are afraid of the dark they don't have actual monsters coming out to get them. Listening to buster talking about needing her softer touch with things made her nervous. Its not like she could say no hearing about how much money was owed. Picking up a bottle of vodka and she turned it back. Taking a decent drink she would move around the bar. trying not to cough at the burn she sat the bottle down and glanced at Buster.
"Lets go get this money then" She could followed buster to his ride and heard him ask about her actual name. "No other name. Got tossed out by my parents when I was a kid. Don't remember what they called me other than freak and abomination." It was lies but believable enough for the world they lived in. Plus she knew he wasn't really to type to press a chick for all the personal baggage. The ride over to the woman's home wasn't the longest and they parked a few homes down. This place was obviously full of the rich snobby types. Seemed the woman in question was hosting an event. "I have a plan to get us passed security."
Her gazed moved to the driveway off to the side. "Just try not to toss cookies on my shoes." Mystic would say as she put her hand on busters shoulder and they would phase into a world of gray and white. It was eerily quiet and mystic would pass buster walking towards the house. All the people around them but they would pass right through and move through the doors. 'We can wait here till things quiet down.' Mystic would think knowing he would hear her in his head. Really she hoped he would not press her about how this was possible. The shadow realm was the one place she had found peace in when things got hard.

She had warned him not to hurl. It didn't ready him to have his stomach do a cartwheel and land on his kidneys. He swallowed hard to sink back the bile rising in his throat. What the actual fuck had just happened. One minute they were in the real world. The next they were in the land of Oz and all the people that were in it only a moment before were just shadows moving here and there.
They could still see where the people were but it was as if they didn't have their f feet truly set in this reality anymore. They had slide off the plane of existance on some crazy X-Axsis adventure. They found a nice quiet part of the house to wait in. This was beyond just a useful power though. Shit if he knew she could do this he would have taken her on so many other heists. Why the fuck didn't he know she could do this?!? Silver Shadow often talked about blinking out of reality, though he had never taken Buster he had nothing to compare it too.
He knew of reality benders and shit like that though. Those types that could alter perception were the ones to watch out for. Buster's own meger abilities were not quite so substantial. He wished he had a trick like this up his sleeve. "You're full of surprises." He whispered. But his voice didn't come out. The Shadwo Realm was a place of no sound. Sound did not exist here. Though she nodded just the same. Did he.... Think that too her?
He blinked a few times. He wasn't sure how he could tell this bitch they were looking for apart from the rest of the crowd. They all looked like vaguely human shaped blobs rolling across the floor on ice skates. Why the fuck was she hosting an event on a Sunday. Even the guy upstairs took a rest on Sundays.
"So you're kind of a bad ass huh?" Buster looked at her and as he did he supposed it was pretty obvious that he was impressed. He found himself looking down her shirt a little. There wasn't much else to look at. They were in doors but grey ash rained down from the ceiling just the same. It was the land of ash and silence. And shadowy blob people. The place kind of gave Buster the creeps, but he also didn't live here.
This wasn't his bag. She probably spent a lot of time here. He didn't seem to know much about her and for a moment he wondered if that was because she spent all of her free time here. It made sense in his head. It just clicked why they never hung out. If you had an escape hatch you were going to use it right. After awhile, Buster wasn't sure just how long time seemed to pass differently here.... The crowd began to thin out. There were less and less blobs roaming around. They still had some time to kill. "How come I didn't know you could do this?" He asked in her head. His voice was filled with wonder and curiosity, but it wasn't accusational. It wasn't suspicious. Just mildly curious.
Buster looked down at his own grey hands and flexed and arched his fingers. Feeling a current passing through them. His knuckles cracked as his fingers flexed. He looked back up to meet her gaze. In her eyes was mystery, and familiarity, and haze and cloudy trust, and absolute trust. It was like staring into a mirror and not knowing if you trusted the person looking back at you. He got all that. He felt it on a deeply personal level, but he did trust her. Something in her soft innocent somehow wild eyes felt like she would have his back no matter what. It kept his teeth from being on edge. There was a crash in the living room and then applause as some people sarcastically clapped and applauded the event waiter falling over with a tray of drinks.
The sound never reached their ears. That was one draw back. You couldn't just linger in the shadows and hear everything. "This place is kind of lonely. You ever get lonely?" Buster asked. He had taken to occupying his attention with all the shiny shit in the room. Jewels and expensive things lying here or there. They must've been in her office.
The wall safe was slightly open. Buster peered inside before shoving a few grey colored stacks of hundred dollar bills in his jacket along with a diamond tenis bracelet. He supposed that would have covered the debt, but he still wanted to have a chat with her. It was a principal of respect. He turned to Mystic. She had been watching him. "What? A guy's gotta eat right?"
He smiled at her. He wondered why his smile felt different. It wasn't the cocky 'I'm going to get laid tonight' smile, it was sheepish and defensive. It was a little self consious and apprehensive. Her opinion of him mattered a great deal. He found that interesting.

[attr="class","box2"]This place of shadows was something very familiar to her. If she wasn't already forced to be quiet in the silent place she would've chosen to be. Her mind was preoccupied on multiple memories flashing back. The first time her father brought her to this world. It was bittersweet to know that version of her father that she loved so much was gone. Truthfully he had been gone for eleven years. It was after she had gone off to college for her freshmen courses. Mystic had grown up so fast that it seemed to make her childhood fly by was too fast.
There were days she cursed her abilities for robbing her of time with him. When she heard busters thoughts she would look up and give him a nod. She was gonna have to remember to edit this part of his memory out. Honestly she needed to get back and be ready for that circus to come back to town. Getting her father there so he could have that destined meeting. It was just the start of things to come. When he asked about her being kind of her badass she would smirk and visibly laugh. though she did happen to notice his glances down her shirt.
Her head would turn as she blushed a bit. "I don't really advertise a lot of my powers. Don't really want a giant target on my back from gadem. Plus this power is unstable. playing with shadows it one thing but it teeters on darkness that would make even your shit turn white" Was her reply and it with completely the truth. There was a evil in this power and her father had not even begun to explain how the monsters from the dark under her bed were real and nasty beasts. The people there were even worse and it terrified her the one time she had gone to far.
"I'm used to being alone. Its peaceful here away from the bustle of the reality of the world. Nothing in this realm can hurt me. If anything I make more friends here." Beside Benny's feet The shadows would swirl and a fluffy gray bunny made of clouds would form. It hopped a few feet before it grew and shifted into a dog then a horse and vanished as it circled the room. She watched benny pocket the cash and she would put her hand on his shoulder. Pulling him through into the real world again they would be standing behind the target. She would push the door shut loud enough for the women to hear the latch catch.
"You've been skipping debt owed to Ms Milton." She would say as her eyes turned fully black. Glancing at buster she could see him trying to settle after the sudden change. Subtly wasn't exactly a trait she had gotten from her father. 'I was planning on contacting your boss right now.' The woman spoke in a bit of a tense voice. It was easy to hear the tremble in her voice. "I don't care for liars nor do I have the time and patience for.." her voice was cut off as she was interrupted. 'I will not be disrespected in my own home by the rats on the city.' woman spoke this time in a snappy rude tone.
Mystics eyes would flicker with a black flame causing the lights in the room to shatter. Darkness took over the room and a wave of black fire would surround buster. Mainly for his protection as beings started to slink out of the darkness. Every one had the most diabolical look on its face. Chains shot forth and pulled the woman into the darkness. Screams were heard for moments until suddenly the creatures vanished. the lights that didn't shatter came back on and the flames around buster vanished.
In the corner was the smug woman but now her hair was a mess. She was rocking back and forth and as mystic stepped closer you could see her clothing sliced and the woman bleeding in places. Her lips were sewn shut and she just sat whimpered. "Dont be late on payments again or next time ill leave you there. We can go now." Mystic would pocket a very expensive looking egg from the shelf. Grabbing busters shoulder they would phase into shadows into the streets. "Please don't speak about what you saw here."

"That was...." Buster didn't have the words to reflect what the fuck that was. "That was something." He said finally. They were already halfway down the block before he found his tongue. He slid behind the wheel of his firebird. He slid the key into the ignition and the old girl just wouldn't start. "Come on baby."
It sputtered and whined, but it wasn't going to start. "She just needs some encouragement." Buster urged. Kissing his hand and caressing the dashboard like an old lover. Something backfired, the car started and then died in a cloud of black smoke darker than the shadows in the shadow realm. "Fuck!"
Lulu had told him several times if he was going on official club business he shouldn't drive his pile of shit. It was likely to crap out on the getaway, but he had faith in his baby. To bad cars didn't run on faith. "Guess we're walking, or at least until i find something worth snatching."
As he spoke he was leaning into the backseat to grab a backpack. He grabbed a few non discript boxes and shoved them in. He also grabbed a beat up looking teddy bear from the backseat and shoved it in the bag as well. The bear looked as if it had been several times mended rather than thrown out.
Buster got out and slammed the door. Leaning on the roof of the car he looked across the roof at Mystic. He had a single eyebrow raised and he gave her a look that said 'what are you going to do' That's when they heard the alarms. There was men shouting and Buster cast another quick glance at Mystic. "Well, time to go!" He said tapping the roof of the car as if to emphasize the point.
Buster slung the bag over his shoulder and started to make his way down the road. Already they were mobilizing. Searching the area for two rough neck types in leather jackets. That was the only description they could get out of the near catatonic Seneator. Yes, the woman in question was a senetaor.
Buster might have forgotten to mention that part. Secret service types were swarming and pissed, and heavily armed. Buster grabbed Mystic by the wrist and pulled her through a hedge that led into some suburban Susie home maker's front lawn. "Here." He said.
Not bothering with manners and kicking the front door in. He didn't have the telepathy anymore but he didn't need it to read the look on Mystic's face. "Relax. There was like 8 newspapers on the front porch and the mailbox had spiderwebs hanging off it. Whoever lives here is obviously on vacation."
Buster had a knack for noticing things. Little details that seemed to slip beyond the perview of others. Things that tended to get overlooked. He had too, because he couldn't afford to overlook the small shit. It was the smaller details that always ended up coming back to bite you in your fucking ass in the end. Buster was a fan of doing things right the first time.
Tossing his bag on the couch he started to walk around the large dark living room. The family pictures on the wall told the story of a family that grew up loving and supporting each other. He scoffed at it. Plopping on the couch he grabbed the remote and turned on sports center. "Close the door will ya? We can wait it out here." He said as if he wasn't worried at all about it.
When she went to do just that Mystic could see that several black suits were crawling through the front yard. These guys were sharpe. It was going to be a fight. And for once, Buster wasn't in a hurry to fight, but he would if he had too. He leaned forward, his arms dangling off of his knees. He looked around the room and took stock of everything that was here. Noticing the small details. It made him feel a little better. Buster reached behind his ear and grabbed the cigerette that rested there. He only had time to stick it in his mouth before the commotion started.

[attr="class","box2"]They managed to get back to the car but she knew things were gonna start melting down. She slipped into the passengers seat and got a bit quiet. Really she wasn't paying much attention to the car or its malfunctions. In her mind she could hear them and they wanted to come out. There was a reason she never edged her way into that dimension. Way to many possibilities of things to go wrong and the people that could get killed. Turning her gaze to buster as he was practically making out with his car. An eyebrow quirked and she sighed when he said they would have to walk.
She watched him grab things out of the car including a very beat up teddy bear. This guy was starting to seem like a bit of a mystery sure she grew up around the fools and her uncle buster. Neither one she would've picture with a teddy bear unless he was using it to get into a girls skirt. Hearing some alarms going off she would follow after buster even when he decided to pulled her through some bushes. They headed up the walk and he Sparta kicked the front door. Her eyes grew wide and she was pulled inside hearing him mention all the newspapers outside.
The plan was to lay low and she moved to the door to close it like he said. Seeing multiple guards armed surrounding the house some were wearing Gadem Vests. She would shut the door quickly and back away. Heart heart started to race as her breathing was starting to panic. Backing up she would find herself glancing at buster as guards tossed tear gas canisters in the windows. Coughing and sputtering she would watch as guards started to approach. The house would start to rumble as her gaze was flickering between flames and solid black.
In the swarm of guards she gazed and saw buster in a tussle with a few of them but there were too many. Chains would start to rise from the shadows in the floors. Guards would have their feet ripped from beneath them but more would replace as they were ripped into the darkness. Screams and blood splatter would appear but when a gun went off she would feel a sting and a dart in her shoulder. Her vision would start to blur and the lines between the shadow and dark dimensions got really hazy.
Her head would slump over and she went down to her knees. The guards were cautious as they approached the now sedated mutant. "Buster.....get out...." Was all she could muster before her voice was replaced. The sounds of howling and snarls was heard from the darkness behind her. Glowing blood red eyes would be seen as a pair of hellhounds stepped from the darkness. 'hungerrrrrr........' 'bloodssssss...' 'foooooood..' The snarling beasts would bare bright white teeth before ripping into the guards. A horde of demonic creatures followed running though everything in their path.
Limbs and body parts would fly as the guards were eliminated in a rather fast rate but that led to the problem of Buster. He would catch the gaze of one of the hounds. It would turn to lunge at him as the others would follow suit. Down the hall they would chase him until a door slammed in their face. The beasts would take turns ramming the bedroom door. Deep in her mind she would telepathically speak out. "Go out a window. Leave me. I cant move and they will kill you. Call shawn." It was the last thing she had wanted but in her current state she could not control it. Resetting their memory could come later.

Panic, smoke, screaming, gunfire, flaming shadowy dogs from hell. Buster's heart was hammering in his ears. He could only hear vague muffled sounds beyond the blood pounding his ear drums. His skinny frame wasn't enough to hold the door. He frantically reached for the deadbolt. After several attempts it slid into place, but the door cracked in the middle. Thump. The frame splintered. Thump. The wall holding the frame bulged. Buster still had a cigerette in his mouth. It jumped with every crash against the door. Sweat poured from his face. His fingers were boney, curling talons holding the door frame for desperate purchase.
Tear gas seeped underneath the door. It swirled around his feet. Making a cloud of fog around his high top converse. Each breath was a burning torturous stab in the back of his throat. His eyes were blurry with tears and fear. His hair fell in his face, he looked like a madman; eyes bulging and his tongue randomly darking out to wet his lips. His eyes searched the room for a window. He could hear Mystic's voice in his head. He didn't know what happened to her. It was chaotic. Everything happened fast. Faster than he had anticipated.
Buster ran for the window. He busted it open with his elbow. A tinkling shower of glass rained down, a shard cut his cheek drawing a thin line of blood that only insighted the canines into a further rage. They could smell his blood and they wanted it to coat their foul tongues. Buster climbed through the window. Not worrying about the broken glass left in the frame. A shard dug into his palm drawing deep crimson. It was warm against his pale wrist; running down his jacket sleeve.
By now the door was half way out of the frame. The top hinges were on the floor. Smoke from the tear gas had filled most of the bathroom. It swirled around as if it had a life of his own. Buster landed in the gravel on the side of the house. The fall drove the wind out of him. On his back he still had his black backpack. Buster's eyes turned black, for just a moment. Pupiless, souless shark's eyes and then they were normal again. On his back the backpack moved. Something within it pushed against the nylon fabric.
A small fingerless hand pushed the zipper pulling it from the inside and unzipping it a bit at a time. Until a furry hand sprung out. Out popped a head. Two button eyes and a stitched crocked smile. The left side of it's head had been burned from a fire from long ago. The thing stood up. Using it's nubby hands to pull itself out of the bag. One foot then the other. Buster rolled over coughing, catching his breath. He wasn't paying attention to the toy. Didn't need too. He saw it out of the corner of his eye. It turned to him slowly and nodded. It reached up it's little nubby hands and readjusted it's bow tie before turning to the house.
Raising both of it's hands it's button eyes glowed. It swirled it's hands around in circular motions, like a conductor managing an orchestra. It caused the tear gas in the bathroom to swirl faster and faster. It raised it's tiny arms above it's head and cause the gas to form a sheet. A wall of smoke that hid the broken window. This tiny master, this adorable conjurer of smoke and mirrors was Buttonz. Buttonz was an old friend. From Buster's childhood. Not that he had much of a childhood.
Probably Buster's oldest friend in the world. It was Buttonz who kept Buster feeling safe when his old man was on a bender. Buttonz had pulled Buster from the burning house when his old man set it on fire for the insurance money. Buster could animate things. Anything really. These things took on the properities of it's history. Buttonz had been in a house fire. Now, Buttonz could control and manipulate smoke and fire at will. "We have to get Mystic." Buster told the small companion with a wheezy, gasping bark.
Just at that moment an agent came barrelling around the side of the house and pointed a nine millimeter at them. He saw the toy standing there and for a moment he was confused. It was only a moment but it was long enough. Buttonz nodded and the man set on fire. Telepathic pyrokenisis. Buttonz was not to be fucked with. The man ran through the bushes screaming in agony. It caught fire and within moments so were the rest of the hedges.
Two more agents, these one's wearing GADEM vests appeared. Buster grabbed his bag and bolted around the back of the house. Buttonz looked at Buster and then to the agents before diving head first into the crawlspace of the hosuse his tiny little bear arms pointed out in front of him like an olympic diver. The agents fired on the bear, but they had storm trooper aim. They weren't expecting to arrest a stuffed bear. Buttonz shimmied under the house listening for coughs. He made his way through the dirty cobwebs and stopped tilting it's little head to the floor above. It heard faint coughing.
Buster fumbled for his cellphone. Running along side the pool he pressed buttons frantically. It was rining. The name on the screen read "Shitface" "Yeah?" Shawn's voice was in his ear. Buster dodged an agent and shouldered him hard. He sent him flying into the pool. "Man get your ass down to Lorena ave. Look for the fire! We need help man!" More gunshots. Buster ducked and watched in amazement as the two dogs tore through the side of the house. They tore the agent who was shoot apart in a fine misty sprey of blood and guts.
Under the house Buttonz was pounding his little fist on the boards above him. He got a few floor boards loose and peeked his head out into the living room. Canisters filled the room with smoke. His little button eyes surveyed the scene. He could see the girl lying there coughing. He scurried up, pulling himself up into the living room, the way he had pulled himself out of the bag. It grabbed at her wrist. He began to pull her to the front door and out onto the porch. So she didn't choke. It was slow and laborious work. An inch at a time, and for one horendous moment it looked like the little guy wouldn't be able to pull her when she got caught on the rug. He pulled and pulled and pulled and finally the rug smoothed down and allowed his progress to continue.
"Oh shit!" Buster cried. He didn't mean too. His eyes were wide panic. He ran as fast as his legs could carry him. His veins ached and his lungs breathed battery acid, but he ran still. He ran to his car and threw himself inside. He locked the door for some reason. As if the fucking things knew how to use door handles. They were more likely to chew the door right off the car, but he locked it just the same. This was fucking nuts. He didn't even bring his fucking gun. Things were supposed to go smoothly. How did it turn into such a cluster fuck?!?

[attr="class","box2"]So this was not exactly how things were supposed to go down. Had Mystic known this woman was a senator then she would've taken a less traumatizing approach. Erasing memories was going to be her job for the next week or so. Her frozen and paralyzed body stayed there as it was harder to breath. Stuck in her mind she did the only thing she could do which was put a forcefield of sorts around the mass chaos. It would stop any more agents from coming it but it didn't stop more things from entering the world. What surprised her was the fact that she found herself bring drug outside by.. a toy?
Outside her motionless body stared up at the dimly lit ceiling. Being able to breathe some fresh air was nice but the sound a maniacal laughing was heard. "Oh fuck." She spoke loudly in her mind as she rolled her eyes to the darkness. Outstepped set of stiletto heels and she would see someone lean into her view. 'Whats a matter Doll? Cat got your tongue' There was a evil smirk on the lips of a dark version of her aunt lulu. Stepping out of the dark behind her was her lover Johnny rome. Behind them was William and all of them took a deep inhale.
'don't worry doll we wont hurt you much.' Dark lulu would laugh as johnny picked the girl up and slug her over his shoulder. She was carried through the house into the kitchen. Put into a chair where she was bound by johnny before he grabbed knives off the counter. The darker version of lulu could feel something at her leg as she looked down to see a mere toy. Taking the bat from her shoulder she would smirk. Swinging the bat she would watch the toy fly and hit a tree. 'Its outta here. Take care of your friend' She would order william. The tall man would move towards the car buster was in. In his hand a sledge hammer would start to swing and bash the car.
Inside the house her not so loving aunt and uncle would take turns running knives across her skin. 'you've kept us locked away far to long. How could you treat your own family.' There was a smirk on her lips as she dug a knife into the girls shoulder. bringing the knife to her lips she would lick the blood soaked blade. 'we cant kill you but the body takes so much pain before its over. Maybe you wont keep us in that prison.' A small smirk would tug a bit at mystics lip. "Choke on a dick." Mystic would manage to mutter.

DON'T BE AFRAID W Wh Buster watched as the dogs parted down the middle and betwen them stepped a shadowy visage of William, his old friend. He smirked at Buster. Sledgehammer in hand. Smoke reathed off of his shoulders seeming to simmer and swim there. The outline of his form was dancing naked shadow moving with the wind. A gentle breeze blew at William's dark hair. The smirk unnerved him. He only had to look into his eyes to know that wasn't William, let alone the fact that he seemed all wrong.
Buster's eyes moved to the dogs who started biting at his tires. The back one went flat. Then the front. The car lowered and settled on deflated tires that basically popped like a cork. "Fuuuuck me.." Buster moaned. His eyes moved back up to William's face. His eyes went dark for a moment. His lips were a thin line on his face, He didn't blink. He didn't take his eyes off the man. But behind him several corpses pushed theirselve's to their feet. Gunshots rang out.
Each bullet that hit the dogs disappeared in a puff of smoke. Swallowed by the shadows that engulfed them. One of the men shot a paralitic dart at William. It didn't phase him. He didn't even turn to face them. They ran and threw themselves on William who shook them off. Buster wasn't controlling them. The things that he animated came alive to protect him, fight for him. It was part of his charm.
When Shawn pulled up a few moments later everything had changed. The dogs had rammed into the car hard enough to flip it on it's top. The window broke and Buster was crawling out of it. Shawn had gotten there fast. It sounded urgent and riding through shadows was the fastest way to travel.
He stood there in the street. Somewhere in the distance sirens screamed. He didn't take much notice of that. Things were bad. He saw flames licking the sky as the bushes continued to burn. Corpses kept throwing themselves at William no matter how many times they were tossed aside they stood up until they were completely destroyed.
Buster was crawling across the street when he screamed. A dog was ripping into his wrist threatening to Tear it off. Shawn's eyes lit up. Bright white against the opposing darkness around them. First things first. Buster was outmatched here. Shawn's hair burned brightly. The silver strands were neon white exuding a light that almost blinded you. The failing light of the day cast many shadows.
The shadows were his playground. The shadows were his ally. Sinking into the street, he reemgered in front of the dog. He grabbed it around the throat with one hand and shoved it back against the tipped car. It let go of Buster immediately. Not used to being openly challenged the dog's fury was sudden and intense. It's jaws snapped in Shawn's face and tendrils of spit, venomous and stringy flew threw the air. Buster screamed behind him clutching his wrist. "Goodbye Buster" Shawn said without taking his eyes from the terrible beasty.
Buster sank into the street. His shadow was long on the street and touching Shawn's that point of contact was enough to form the link. Shawn could feel their shadows touching in his marrow and he sunk Buster away into the shadow realm. The first layer of insanity. The snowy white ashy existence of silence and lingering shadow. He would be safe there. He would heal there. Shawn hoped. He hadn't himself been injected with venom of a dark dimension creature, but this thing was definetly of that ilk.
Time moved differently there. The minutes were days, and months were a lifetime. It was a place where sound was sufficated and pain was irrelevent. It was a place of quiet hope and a place to piece together his fractured psyche in times of great termoil. His attention was on the thing in front of him. Already he could hear another around the other side of the car. William, it seemed watched with quiet fascination. Shawn's fingers bled into the shadow of the things narled matted bloody fur. He could not see them. Only the shadow around them engulfing his hand. Shawn did not shake. Shawn did not fumble. He stood tall. The shiney hero in the land of dark.
"LEEEEEEEEET US OUT!" A voice raspy and nasty voice rattled in his head. "BLOOD AND GUTS AND GUTS AND BLOOD. SET US FREE TO HAVE OUR FUN!" Shawn opened his mouth and a beam of light spilled out. White as a supernova and hotter than the sun. It ripped the dog thing apart, atom by atom it disappated and broke apart. Floating through the air, mere particles of broken darkness. Shawn stood there with his arm still raised for a moment longer before he slowly lowered it. His eyes were still white lights of justice. The Shiny hero. Master of light and dark and shadow and pain.
The other dog jumped over the car. Threw itself at him. Shawn was not there. Blinked out of the world and gone before it crashed into him. Somewhere a little bear was climbing slowly, carefully down a tree. William watched patiently. When Shawn reappeared he did so behind the beast that landed feet in front of him. He reached down on the street and grabbed it's shadow. He ripped it in two. The dog, ripped apart as if acted upon by two impossible forces pushing on it's insides with great force. Shawn threw it's shadow to either side of him and the dog thing's two halves followed. A yelp of pain and then silence.
"SHINEY HERO! DOOOOOO NOT HOG ALL OF THE FUN! THIS EVIL IS ACIENT AND HORRID, WE WILL SEEEEEEEE IT UNDONE." The s's and e's of it's lilted speach slide out of it's slithery tongues. Growing larger from his back were two vipers of the dark dimension. Shawn's symbolic bonds to that horrible place. It was a place that even unnerved him. But he did not let it show. He had fought creatures from tehre before.
Light spilled out of his lips, from his nostrils and out his eyes. The cop car pulled up to the curb and a fat sunburned sheriff looked over the carnage. "HOLY, JESUS!" He exclaimed. And was amazed to see a toy teddy bear throw himself at a man made of shadow. He hadn't even noticed the whipping tendril snakes coming from the bright guy's back. They hissed and writhed in the air, swimming around Shawn's head. Occasionally seeming to whisper in his ear. Shawn did not falter. "Go back to where you came. Or be undone." Shawn told William simply.
"No one's going anywhere!" The cop commanded finally finding his vioce again. "SILENCE BACCON!" One of the vipers demanded and it whiped itself at the cop car ripping the door off with one motion and throwing it down the street. It banged and skidded and came to a screaching halt. Shawn watched this with mild interest and then turned back to Shadow William. William raised his sledgehammer and the other viper struck. It ripped Shadow William's heart out and spit bright light into the gaping hole. That was enough the sheriff was speeding off the street having seen all he needed to see.
William, stunned, dropped to his knees and fell on his face. He melted into the street becoming smoky shadow. Dying and sinking back into the dark dimension from the shadows of which he came. There was a scream inside the house. Shawn calmly turned his attention to the house and began to slowly walk towards it.

[attr="class","box2"]S'I thought I raised you to have better manners Wretched little bitch.' Dark lulu spoke as she picked up a barbeque fork and jabbed it into Mystics hand. At this point the paralytic was wearing off as the other half of her power was fighting it. The scream that came from her was loud and was easily heard outside. Her gaze turned as she felt the life force of not only the hounds but dark William vanish. "Another one bites the dust." She choked out with a laugh only to be struck in the lip by Lulu. Coughing she would spit blood to the side.
'Handsome go check on our brother. Need to talk girl talk with the ungrateful little shit.' As Johnny left the kitchen lulus attention turned to her fully. Picking up a cleaver she would move over. 'Gravel and I'll consider leaving you with hands.' The dark being said as she gently pressed the cleaver to her wrist. She would draw it back and prepare to swing as mystic looked up. Her eyes were solid black. There was an angry look on her face as she glared at the evil incarnation of her aunt.
"You should've stayed in your cage." Her psychic energy began to pulse and things started to levitate. Within moments the items would start to slowly disintegrate. The particles getting smaller and smaller before turning into nothing. AS the dark version of lulu lunged at her she would watch it turn into dust. Her body would start to levitate as the house itself turned into rubble. Mystic could feel the instability of her power getting worse and with little warning she would use her own powers to sling herself into the last remaining tree. This would knock her out cold as she fell to the ground.
Oh how she was going to be hurting tomorrow. That would be the least of her concerns as she knew there would be questions about these powers she used. It wouldn't be hard for anyone with half a brain to know she had gotten them from. At least buster was generally safe but he was going to hate life until the infection was cleared of his system. Being bitten by the dogs was going to be the worst hangover of his life. When Mystic started to wake she was in the shadow realm with her father staring at her. At a slow place she sat up and she knew he wanted an explanation. He had that face and expression she had seen many times as a child.
"Congratulations. Its a girl." She would telepathically say to him. The was a weak amused grin on her lips as she stood on very Shakey legs. "Is buster okay?" She would changed the subject knowing she just dropped a atom bomb on shawn. He was going to be very confused as far as this new development started to sink in. Leaning on the wall she would move to the next room and find buster passed out on a bed with buttonz the the plush standing guard. "Im sorry that I messed this up so bad." Her thoughts quietly spoke two the both of them.

DON'T BE AFRAID W Wh Shawn's face was a stoic mask. Eyes white and blazing. Hair on fire with white light. And suddenly it wasn't. His hair slowly fading to the usual silver. His face was no longer a bright beaming beacon of holy white fire, but it gave nothing away. No emotion, no concern. He was figuring her out. He knew from the moment he saw shadow William that something wasn't right.
That was dark and shadow and concentraited dark energy. Things could not exist in the dark dimension and be fair and true. They were corrupt. He didn't have to be told that this girl held his bloodline in her veins. She sarcastically said it's a girl. That was enough to gather a small smirk at the corner of his mouth. Shawn looked at her for a long moment not saying anything at all. He looked around the shadow realm and he felt at home. He had always felt more at peace among the ashy silence. He wasn't a man who opened up easily. He wasn't a man who let people in. This was the first time in his life he had ever been here with people he cared about.
He turned and looked upon Buster's pale grey face. Buster seemed to be sweating and shaking his head slightly from side to side in some horrible fever dream. The small plush companion picked up a broke shard of glass from a broken bottle on the ground and jabbed it threateningly at Shawn as he stood watch over Buster. But the tiny creature's heart was not in it. He was weak, tired. He was still full of live, but Buster's fading strength made him weaker in turn. They were linked that way. The thing would die defending him. Shawn's smirk disappeared. He picked the thing up and put it on the bed next to Buster.
He realized that they were back in the Fool's Dice Club. The shadowy version of it at least. Broken bottles and random shit laid here and there. The place was a wreck. Shawn knew that in the real world something had gone down there. It translated. Objects physically transmuted to the shadow realm, exactly where they were in the fixed point in reality. They hadn't been gone that long. Maybe a day if you took into account the time difference between this world and reality. "Who is your mother?" Shawn asked finally, turning his attention away from Buster and the little bear. As he did the creature lowered his weapon and slumped over exhausted on top of Buster.
Shawn's eyes were no longer white, but that did not mean they were no longer burning. They burned with a need to know where Mystic came from. Why didn't he remember her? Where was her mother and what happened to her? It was entirely possible that she was born here. In this ashy place of quiet. She could have lived her whole life here, grew up fast. A few years here and popped out into reality almost an adult. Time did funny things in the palace of shadow. He stared at her, before she could answer his question he pulled her into his arms. Breaking his tough guy persona and allowing himself to love her. Like a father should love his daughter. There was no sound in the palace of shadow, but his heart was hammering loudly just the same.

[attr="class","box2"]It had been eleven years since she had seen her father and the day she was told he was gone. It was burned in her memory forever and being in this world. Back in the shadow world and seeing him alive and well. Maybe a little rough around the edges but he was still the hero she remembered. The one that scared away the very real boogie men her childhood imagination drug out of the dark nights. There was concern on her face had she grabbed a damp ramp and put it on busters forehead. The hallucinations that you got from being infected by the darkness was fever induced.
Not fatal but it would still kick your ask and make you question your sanity. Her gaze moved around to see the disarray for the fools clubhouse and knew something was a mess. It was probably backlash of this mess she got them into. Had she actually know the identity of this woman and the roll she would play down the road. Mystic may have just left her in the darkness. That's when she Heard the question in her fathers mind and if there was volume it would been a long sigh.
"You haven't met her yet. Her name is Andromeda Cromer. You don't know it but she's someone from you past." Mystic would say as she watched her father set the small animated plush bear on the bed with buster. Standing up she would turn to him and unexpectedly get pulled into a hug. For a moment she was frozen as she tried not to loose her composure. Though after a moment and feeling like she was just gonna crumble. Her arms wrapped around him and her face burred right into his chest. She stayed there for a good long few minutes before she pulled away.
The tears that had a slight glimmer turned to dust and floated away. "Next if the million dollar question. Why am I here?" A nervous smile came to her lips as she glanced back at buster and found a seat by the bed. She wasn't going to move until she knew he was okay. "I've already broken the number one rule. I came back from the future to stop bad shit from happening. Mostly the Death of this club... This family. The people who raised me after..." Her voice trailed off as she stood and moved past her father.
Stepping outside the club she would see the ashes falling in a slow rhythmic pattern. She could hear him processing all this and just so many questions she knew he would have. Truthfully she didn't want to tell him she had died so early in her life. It was a truth she was trying to avoid mainly in this timeline. Mystic had come here on a mission with a one way trip. Knowing the world she left behind would crumble and fade if she was successful. Where she would go if everything she came to do happened. It was all so uncertain

DON'T BE AFRAID W Wh Shawn's mind was a whirlwind of emotion, though his face was calm and sure as it always was. Shawn was not a very emotive man. He didn't like holding his cards out for the world to see. Even if the world was silent and dead and the only eyes upon him were the eyes of his daughter. Fuck. He had a daughter. It was hard to believe and yet, he accepted it instantly. She was powerful. So powerful and so young at the same time. That combination scared him a little. He knew that she would grown into her powers. Learn to use them as he did over the years, and who knew what tricks she had access too that he did not.
Silver Shadow was always regarded as one of the toughest of the Fools. This fact never escaped him. He was in fact one of the Club's enforcers. The muscle when things got heavy. He nodded. He had questions, a million in fact, but only one surfaced to his lips. "Are you going to stick around?" In not so many words he was asking if he was going to get a chance to get to know his daughter. Though, he wasn't a prison guard. He wouldn't hold her here if she wished to go. He felt robbed. Robbed of the years he didn't get to be a part of, and at the same time a swelling pride that almost made a smile break across his face.
Behind him Buster whimpered and leaned over the bedside and vomited black bile. It was writhing and moving and making bubbling, squeaking sounds. Shawn frowned. He didn't know any mutants personally who had the gift of healing touch, though he had heard about them. The best they could do was leave Buster in the Shadow realm for a few days. Come back and check on him. He should be sorted out after some time to heal where time moved differently.
"There are things about my past that I am ashamed off. There are things i wish I could take back. You are not one of those things. I feel like i don't' even know you, but at the same time i feel like you've been with me my entire life. You're a part of me. That means you're stronger than you think. And it looks like you've inhereted my power set. I want to see what you can do with them. I saw the shadow dogs. Those were impressive. I can manifest dark energy from the Dark dimension. It's as simple as a thought, and requires concentraition to control, but once you have it. It's your best weapon."
Shawn was standing on the front steps of the club and he joined Mystic outside. The sun was a grey circle in the sky casting no real light. The shadows were actually rare here. Only the shadows of other people moving around in the real world though it only took a suggestion of thought to manipulate them. What shadows did exist were faint, not powerful constructs to manipulate. As if they were fading out of this world and bleeding into another plaine entirely. Though dark, rich shadows of Fools at the clubhouse moved here or there. Shawn wasn't perceptive enough to know what they were doing based on blobby undefined silhouettes.
"Firstly, Mystic isn't much of a name. And since I never got to name you I would like to change that. How does Emily feel to you? Emily Silverman. It was my mother's name. You wouldn't have gotten to meet her. She died when I was a teenager....." He paused. "I didn't have you when I was a teenager did I?" He waited for her to answer and then dismissed it with a nod. "I want to see what you can do. I will do a few things and then see if you can replicate it."
Shawn looked at a moving shadow. It was in the garage tinkering on an old motorcycle. He raised a hand and syphoned part of it's shadow off of it. A swirling cloud of shadow moved to greet his palm in a ball. Shawn changed it in mid air and moved both hands. Starting close together and then widening out he drew his his hands away from one another and shaped a six inch knife made of shadow. Grabbing it by the blade he hurled it at the bike. The tire went flat in the land of shadow. The tire went flat back in the real world as well. It was hard, but if you concentraited you could effect things in the real world from over here. "Shadow manipulation. Do you have that trick?"
Shawn was also eager to see if she could teleport through shadows, turn into a shadow and become part of the wall, and probably most importantly if he could teach her to conjure and manipulate dark energy familiars. For him it was vipers. Apparently his daughter had dogs. Shawn raised a hand and waved it through the air as if to say "Show me what you got kiddo." There was still no love on his face. He had embraced her, accepted her, claimed her and even named her but gushy shows of emotion were so not his bag. It just wasn't in his character. She would have to break down those walls over time, even if there truly was love there in his heart for her.

[attr="class","box2"] There were no sounds in this shadow world but for her and the psionic energy she could feel the shift in energy. The trembles in the ground and of course she could hear him thinking behind her. She tried her best to stay out of peoples minds but she had been on her own with so much power. It made her so very timid about most of her pure strength of power. "If I succeed in what I came here to do then the timeline i came from will cease to exist. Honestly I have just been taking one thing at a time."
if she did succeed then her mother and father would come together. They would survive the attack gadem sends on them and she would be just a few cells that would grow into their child. Would they want her still after this? They didn't raise her and this new kid could be some one completely different. A part of her hoped they would want her around as she was robbed of her family growing up. Listening to him about his past and things as well as her inheriting his power set. That wasn't all she had though it was her mothers powers that had blended in.
Her gaze turned to her father as he offered her a name and spoke about it being his mothers name. She smiled and gave him a nod as she accepted that would be her new name. Though it would be a weird change. "No I will be born in just under a year from now." She spoke to ease his mind of teen parent hood. her gaze would moved to the shadow in the garage as she listened to her father talk. Seeing the air be let out of the tire and the shadow man get mad and kick it. That made her giggle a bit as she heard him say show him something. Rubbing the back of her neck she would adjust the jacket over her shoulders and step into the lot.
Glancing at her father her eyes would swirl black and a purple energy wave. The ground would start to tremble as a beast started to rise in the form of shadow and cracked stone Ruble. Towering over them a full grown dragon would stretch its wings and flap them heavily. Taking off into the air it would circle the lot and pick up speed as it flew directly at her father in a fast rate. Just in moments before it reached him it would burst in shimmery white light.
The smoke turning into butterflies who's whings glimmered white. Controlling shadows was as easy as breathing for her. There was a big smile on her face as she moved over to her father. Grabbing his arm she would pull him through the shadows. When they came out they would be on the side of a calm stream of water. Up the banks there were pretty white flowers and a path leading up to a bench under a huge cherry blossom tree. "This is my favorite place to come. Its the place where you and my mother came together." as she reached she would gently put her fingers on his temple. Showing him memories of him playing with her as a child. Teaching her how to make simple shadow forms.
All as her mother watched them from a placed picnic. "this is where I burried you both when you died.." A frown came to her lips as she pulled her hand away and moved up to the tree. "I know im not supposed to tell you any of this but as gadem came and one by one killed and took every single fool. I spent alot of time her growing my powers to come back and fix it." Her fingers gripped the jacket she wore over her chest. She held onto this for so long as it had been all she had left from him.
